Language Learning Typing

My daily language learning routine includes some form of immersion or daily task beyond the commonly used mobile app ecosystem (Don't come for me, Duolingo owl, my streak is over 6.5 years).

This takes the form of conversation, music, movies, and tv, or using a device interface in another language (phone UI, smart hub, et. al.).

What I had previously overlooked was the importance of typing in the language I was learning. I found this simple website called Term Typer, which is a minimal and elegant typing-tutor interface that displays a word and its definition (and translation).

I type quickly in English, but nowhere near as fast in Spanish

Completed sections are highlighted in green and errors are shown in red. When the words and definitions are complete, the screen reloads to the next word.

Term Typer currently offers English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Romanian, and German as languages. It can be used in a mobile browser, but not as efficiently as the desktop, and the UI has some vision accessibility issues.

I haven't checked out other typing tutor apps, but here's a small list from Reddit.

Happy typing!
